OBEDIENCE TRAINING, 
AGILITY & SHOW HANDLING........

Delmyra offers indoor and outdoor training accommodations.  The indoors, 1600 square foot training hall is fully matted. Show handling classes are also available on a regular basis.  The trainers represent the areas finest in both dog training talent as well as experience.

Delmyra strives to provide continuing education for the pet owner & their pets.  The hall is available for rent.

Delmyra Training Classes are for the ENTIRE FAMILY.  It is just as important for the children to learn how to handle your pet as it is for you to know the commands.  The entire family is welcome to participate in training your pet. Please call for a schedule.

Delmyra Training Classes Offered

Beginner: The purpose of this class is to learn, as an owner, how to get your dogs attention on you. To learn basic commands such as sit, down, stand, rollover, all of which eliminate many unacceptable behaviors. What is acceptable and unacceptable? Training geared toward you and your dog's individual needs. If training collars are needed the proper way to use. Specific behaviors you want to eliminate at home are also covered. This class is 8 weeks long and includes your own training book written by the Volhards.


Novice:
The purpose of this class is to continue what we've learned in basic training with distractions and distance control added. Hand signals are taught, problems addressed, and more challenging exercises to enforce training and have FUN. This class is 8 weeks long.

Advanced Novice: The purpose of this class is to continue working on a more advanced level. Out of sight stays, distractions, distractions and distractions. New exercises such as go outs (training your dog to go away from you) and more. This class is 6 weeks long.

Beginner Open: The purpose of this class is to introduce you and your pet to open obedience. Included are training your dog to jump properly and safely, retrieve, retrieve over the high jump, broad jump and the down on recall. This class is 6 weeks long.
 

Rally Obedience: (Introduction) This is a brand new sport just now becoming popular. Whether you compete or just want to have fun with your dog and train at the same time.  The Association of Pet Dog Trainers has trials for all breeds, mixed breeds, and disabled dogs (as long as it doesn't cause pain to your dog). This new sport is intended to promote positive relationships between dogs and handlers based on trust and mutual respect. Attitude is more important in APDT Rally than precision. Accommodations are made for physically challenged handlers at trails. Fall classes will have introduction to Rally and spring, summer, and early fall classes will cover all levels and be held outdoors. Introduction is 6 weeks long.

Agility Time.. It's Fun!!

Pre-Agility: The purpose of this class is to introduce you and your dog or puppy to the fun sport of agility. It's designed to build precision and confidence in your dog and you. We cover tunnel, shoot, weave poles, table, tire, walking on a sturdy board and a board that moves. Jumping, heeling on both left and right side of handler are also covered. In this class everything is kept low to build a good foundation. Puppies should not jump major heights until they are about a year old. This class is 8 weeks long. Spring, summer, and fall classes will cover all levels and will be held outdoors on grass and fenced in areas.

Puppy Party: The purpose of this class is to socialize young puppies 9 weeks old to 16 weeks old. Puppies will be matched to play according to their size. We will cover bite inhibition, potty training, walk on a leash without pulling and desensitizing and destimulating. This class is 5 weeks long.
